The nominal phrase in Cinta Larga occurs in a number of other phrases: the subject phrase, the verb phrase (as direct and indirect object), the locative phrase and the comcomitant phrase. The elements making up the nominal phrase are number words, demonstratives, possessors, nouns and adjectives. Since the possessor can itself be a nominal phrase, embedded possession is encountered. The order in which adjectives may occur seems to be well-defined, and a chart showing the nine orders is included. The feature of diminution as it affects nouns and adjectives is demonstrated, and prefixation of the nouns for possession is touched on briefly.
